This was the weekend that we went to Seattle for the big Dan Clowes/Chris Ware show at Roq La Rue, and boy, what a fantastic time. Not only did I somehow reserve a Ware original for purchase (!), but I also got to have great conversations with both cartoonists. I will never forget talking to Mr. Clowes about The Antiques Roadshow, and his telling me about Winsor McCay's son cutting up his dad's Little Nemo strips. What the heck was that guy thinking? And I am truly grateful for Mr. Ware listening to my crazy ideas about using time differently, and for his sharing Charles Schulz's caution that "cartooning will break your heart." Geez, I hope it never does for these two.

So, a jolly "HEY! WHASSUP! HEY..." to An, Dan, Kenbo, Omar, and Tony for being such great pals. A huge thanks to Kirsten Anderson and all at Roq La Rue for putting this amazing show together.
